Monday 3rd February
At 2pm at St Mary's Hall, Tanya Whannell, a practitioner of Alternative Treatments and Therapies, will talk to us about the therapies such as Reiki and Alexander Technique.
These can be an alternative to conventional medicines and specialities.
Wednesday 19th February
Our next speaker will be John Pilkington. John is a well known traveller, author and broadcaster.
'To Eritrea and Ethiopia; Retracing a Victorian expedition.'
In 1968 our government rescued a group of European hostages in Ethiopia by building a sea port and a railway across the coastal plain.
150 years later John followed on their trail.
All about the U3A.
Overton U3A was initially set up in May 2008. We have over 260 members and 30 groups, covering a wide range of activities that meet at weekly, fortnightly or monthly intervals.
We are a friendly, welcoming U3A and meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 10.00am from September to June at St Mary's Hall, High Street, Overton. Meetings include a brief update by the chair, a talk lasting 45-60 minutes with an opportunity for questions, followed by coffee or tea and a chance to socialise with other members. Our July meeting has traditionally become a trip and there is no meeting in August.
The cost of membership for the year 2019/20 will remain at £15.00 per person with renewal due in September. To attend any of the advertised groups, it is necessary to be a fully paid up member. Membership is available to anyone not in full employment.
